Kilbourne Hole

Kilbourne Hole is an example of an uncommon volcanic feature known as a maar. A maar is a depression caused by a volcanic explosion that emits little volcanic material except gas. Additionally, the olivine and enstatite inclusions have been used in studies of the upper mantle.
